Garret Grimslöv

His name was given to him by a Dragonborn who did understand common at the time, Garret Grimslöv he became as he was adopted by the same dragonborn and his paladin's order in Neverwinter.
His family lost him in the many shops before he was found and only with the word "Garret" he could speak, the dragonborn took him in with no choice as he felt responsible for the child taking an oath to raise him.
And this is how Garret Grimslöv was created.

Personal history

This boy was with his family in Neverwinter when in the high traffic area of the market place left him lost. after some time and as the sun began to set he was found by a dragonborn paladin who knew little common as he was new to the city and the city's people.
This boy only could say Garret as he was taught by his mother in attempt to saying Garrison as a meeting point should they ever separate, however the Dragonborn thought this was a name.
after looking for a fortnight for his parents and awaiting anyone looking for him the dragonborn took it upon himself to raise the boy as his own child feeling he had a responsibility to the boy now. and thus Garret Grimslöv was reborn taking his adopted fathers name for a last name.
the paladin order of Tyr that Grimslöv the dragonborn was apart of accepted the boy and trained him as well in their fold understanding the circumstance of how this all came to be.
Around the age of 13 he drastically changed to his surprise that he hold a secret to this day, even his own adopted father knew nothing of this particular secret.
upon his 18th birthday Grimslöv the dragonborn gave Garret gold and supplies saying he is better off helping people and finding his own path in life then staying in the city learning from old tombs and scrolls. and with the current events happening in the dale-lands it seemed the best time to lend a hand.
he warned Garret many times about his sarcastic nature and that maybe forging his own path would help him grow out of it and to remember that the three gods are indeed with him.
Garret took this as a sign and requested the blacksmith of Neverwinter to make a special shield for him that housed the three gods on the face of a kite for protection even though he did not follow their creed.
The journey to Velarburg was the best solution to getting to the dale-lands because of the stories Garret has come to hear bouncing from caravan and inns. he was particularly good at not having to pay by helping out with either guard duty or assisting with the unwanted guests of the inns giving him quite the reputation as a helper of the people regardless of race or creed.
Using his found knowledge from the scrolls, books, and tombs from Neverwinter it was rather easy to casually walk these lands without much trouble. fighting was usually the last resort in most cases as he was particularly good at avoiding conflict with words however in some cases he was a great help for healing wounds as others fought off monsters.

Education

Garret's education comes mainly from the Churches of the three gods, a lot of books, scrolls, and tombs along with the guiding hands, words, and combat trainers they offered were very open to Garret from a young age, here he learned about different races, job skills, and protective messieurs a paladin may need to take. be it fighting or healing.
He was a good student though combat was there it wasn't at the time his best subject.

Employment

though he never officially worked for anyone he did odd tasks for the churches and the market places shop holders. mostly taking items to and from the churches and occasionally helping fill orders for the blacksmiths.
once in a while he would be payed in tips for bringing potions and trinkets to people, these tips mostly went to the churches even though they arch-paladins and clerics were more then happy to let him keep the earnings Garret felt giving would be better then hording.
as he said before and will most likely again "if it can help then might as well" usually followed with a sarcastic remark

Mental Trauma

Around a month into being 13 Garret's body changed and he realized he is not just a human. he grew wings that after hours disappeared, his eyes burned a bright gold like fire from the sun. and yet all of this left him as if he was just a human again. he was lucky to be in the safety of the churches under-croft library at the time where only he was present.
This all was triggered when reading a book about a Solar Angel's influence in a battle long ago. Seeing the image of this creature seemed to trigger this change in him though it never happened again after that unless he chose to let it out. and only once did he do that just to test that theory.
He knew this development would need to stay hidden and secret and this tore at him to keep but he had to for he was afraid if anyone should know what the continuances would be.
