Ironrock

Ironrock is the second larget city in Ewhon, numbering close to 450k residents and is an extremely busy port town. It has become especially busy after the murder of Granville's Mayor as major shipping routes have needed rerouting to other ports making Ironrock the closest and most practical alternative to Granville. It is home to people of all walks of life from the downtrodden finding refuge in the Shades district or the ultra-wealthy living in Dairy Docks adjacent to the Mayor's castle.
There is a small river called Savader Creek which runs a couple miles inland and follows the road to Hidrol. It serves mainly as a taxi-way for residents and tourists wishing to pass through Ironrock onto Hidrol. However, it also serves a couple of taxi barges which go back and forth between the northern parts of Ironrock to the center of the city allowing for safe passage from any neighborhood hugging the river to the city center.
Unfortunately, with the ongoing war against the Cult of the Four Armed God waging not too far South of Ironrock, tensions are running high within the city especially since a large swathe of the city watch were sent on the front lines. This has provoked a spike in crime originating from the Shades district and spreading through the city. It is nowhere near a level where the military would need to be brought in but it doesn't help ease tensions in the least. On top of this reports of a hooded figure nicknamed the Prowler are coming out of Ironrock stating that this person is murdering and kidnapping people. The victims that turn up bear the signs of torture and dark magic experimentation. Numerous raids have been conducted on the Shades district but so far no leads have been dug up.
Thankfully, since about a week there is news that a traveling circus named the Fire and Wisps Traveling Carnival of Curiosities is stopping by Ironrock which will undoubtedly bring some much need relief and distraction to the city.
