The Wandering City of Banrano

Excerpt of an assessment report from Geylis-Orran, Clerk.

I have been observing the settlement that is being called Banrano, in the local dialect the name is a diminutive of the past participle of 'Banrandanlis - to move unpredictably.' The settlement is currently most human in composition, and seems to be comprised of six key families. Very large by Human standards. Later assessments may wish to explore the veracity that these Humans are biologically related. It is clear that many are as intimate social relationships are apparent, and there are multiple generations of humans in each family.

I feel some concern regarding Geylis. He seems to be lacking the required discipline to carry out Her Will as directed. In previous assessments I have not seen, what I believe to be, such reckless disregard for protocol. The settlement has been steadily growing. There is no doubt that many that are attracted to this strange collection of citizens have a potential to be Divergent. The entire premiss of the settle boarders on such, as there are no statutes that officially recognize an organization of citizens in this manner on a permanent basis. The carnival of entertainments that the original six families ran as a buisness, now has become something else. They still provide entertainment, they still travel through the Gle'lanèrino visiting other settlements, but now it is clear that many have 'married in' or have no intention of returning to their previous homes. The Wandering City, as they call it, is now their home. And, I suspect that Geylis may also feel that way.

Geylis-Orran is dead. Earlier this morning he was found by his Orc lover, Pek Rogga, cold in their shared bed. Pek was distraught. We have already started making arrangements to recover the body and return to the University for reassignment without disruption. You may expect us in a 72-89hr window.
    May Her Will be done.

    Demographics

The citizens of the Wandering City are mostly human. The majority of them provide entertainment services, support, resources and logistics. Every permanent resident of the Wandering City is involved in maintaining its economy, and part of one of the families.
Various other 'residents' travel with the Wandering City, to be entertained, to make money... to hide.

All are welcome in the Wandering City.

    Government

Currently the Wandering City is ruled by a family council called the 'SiymaKat.' The original six families and now four additional families manage the city's policy and economy.

"The City of Smoke is crazy. It's always moving, never sleeps, and always has it's lights on. Makes sense that most people find it at night. Yes, I look forward to when the city of Banrano comes here. More business. More fun. More of everything .... civilized."
    Jacqar Fern, Human, Carpet Merchant.

"The Wandering City is evil. They come to a proper city and tempt citizens. Tempt them away from the proper way to live. Tempt them into ... Divergent behaviour. And... And!... they ruin the Glaze. Their path is cut through the Glaze without thought for the damage or harm to Her natural order.
Ederri "The Javelin" Booker, Human, Outrigger.
