Sapphire Heart, War of

This war began because of the incident of the Refused. The lesson being that the honour of one woman can ignite a most horrible consequence.

The Conflict

Prelude

Previous to this war the Twelve True Blood Houses of E'ila-Murin had engaged in diplomatic means to further their goals. The Elf artist Felia'Estas jeriv-D’eion created a world caliber work of art. It was a sculpted statue of the Devouring Mother made of Sapphire. The artistry was not only evident in the debatable perfection of the statue itself, but in the stunning and wondrous fact that whomever gazed at the statue saw the statue as one of their own species. Fella received accolades as a artistic genius. It was at the opening gala of the statues Realm-tour that the incident of the Refused occurred.

Battlefield

The battlefield of this war was the region of Nur-ymir. The unique nature of True Home enabled the House War Commanders to wage an ongoing mobile war throughout the region. Settlements were ravaged and hundreds of kilometres of Nur-ymir where destroyed.

The Engagement

The war evolved several types of tactics. Many mobile as the House's had and still have well trained cavalry troops. Ambush tactics were common. Raids and often devastating small unit skirmishes along the influence zones of each True home occurred.

Outcome

The Evlish nation spends centuries recovering from this conflict. Almost and entire generation of elves is lost and the True Blood Houses realign in power.

Aftermath

Brotherhood historians note that after this war for some 4000 years, ironically enough time to recover the lost generation, the Houses did not openly struggle. However, the political culture of True Home shifted to one more conducive to secret plots and conspiracy. This has become a permanent change in the politics of the Elf nation. An example of this, is that each House eventually developed an Ambassadorial School, where before House Lords and their advisors would meet in person regularly to discuss issues of importance to them.

Historical Significance
