Overview
Restorative salves were a recent medical breakthrough as it allows more powerful restorative spells to be channelled into a physical remedy that doesn't require the caster to be present. It works in a similar fashion to a mage channelling magic into a scroll, allowing someone with limited ability to cast a spell. Before the restorative salves were invented the more dangerous diseases required an extremely powerful healer which is incredibly rare. Now, however, a powerful healer is only needed to create the salves. They needn't be present to cure an individual.
Access
Due to the complexity of making the salves, they are quite expensive and tend to be unaffordable to the general public.
Custodian Sanctuaries almost always have them in stock but will only use them in extreme circumstances. Due to these prices, fakes are often sold in underground networks, making an easy target out of the desperate. The only time the salves have been handed out for free to the general public was during the first outbreak of
The Forsaken Blight.
Utility
These salves are capable of healing the most grievous of wounds and diseases. There are several tiers of salves depending on the amount of magic channelled into them, but all are considerably more effective than previous means of treating wounds. The most effective of these salves can route fatal diseases from people on their death bed. Can regrow small segments of limbs and even mend broken bones. To use the salves one need only apply them to the surface of a wound to activate the magic stored within. The magic of the salve then finds any injuries or diseases and does it best to fix them.
