Kalikari Conqueror
Overview
The title of Kalikari Conqueror is given out once a year to the champion of the Kalikari Crucible's final event where the champions of that year get pitted against each other in a battle of champions. When someone has earned this title they are recognised as one of the best fighters within all of Axeram.Responsibilities
When someone achieves the title of Kalikari Conqueror there are certain duties that they are bestowed with. They must take a seat on the council for one year until the next winner of the crucible. They have to make public appearances around Kalikari and other cities in the area to help promote the glory of the Kalikari crucible, to both attract contestants and spectators. Once the year of duty has been complete they are free to do as they please. Though they are asked to remain respectable so a poor light is not shone on the crucible itself.Benefits
Anyone who earns the title becomes set for life. There is an initial payment of two million gold, and afterwards every year they receive an additional five hundred thousand gold. On top of this, the Kalikari Conqueror has practically free access to the major pleasures of the city. However, it is not uncommon for assassination attempts to be made against them. Some even speculate the government set them up in hope of stopping funding, though no proof of such treachery has ever been found.History
Originally the title of Kalikari Conqueror was originally called the Mortal Conqueror, as the veldren would choose a mortal slave to fight in the crucible for them. All the money would then go to the sponsor and the mortal would be given the title of Mortal Conqueror. Often they would then get chucked back into the crucible at the next event to earn more money for their sponsor. After the Ascension, the title got changed as both mortals and veldren can compete within the contest.

I really like the way this is set up with the responsibilities and benefits. Particularly the attempted assassination attempts possibly being made so as the continued payoffs can stop.
