Overview

The Jovial Visitor brings with it all the trappings of careless merriment. Where ever it goes, happiness follows. When the ship arrives at a port, that port is turned into a stretch of jamboree complete with shows, dances, magic performances, and of course tables full of food. It sounds like a fantasy. It sounds like a myth or a legend of long memory. Rest assured that such a ship exists and that many ports have been graced with the festivities it brings.

Feasibility of the Festival

When the Jovial Visitor arrives at a port it seems to be entirely prepared to satisfy the wants of its host population. No one is entirely sure how one ship can carry so much with it let alone how its crew acquires all of its goods. This seems to be a minor concern only. When the ship arrives, few have any apprehensions of dropping their mundane duties for a full day and night of happiness. The ship remains at its chosen port for no more than a week before it sets sail for other lands.

Joyous Gifts and Games

The Jovial Visitor brings with it the following games: mount racing, chess, cards, swordplay, archery, and magic performances. The food include various exotic meats, vegetables, fruits, and sugary confections. The ship even provides a selection of the finest wines and beers. Visitors are encouraged to board the ship and eat around the largest table of the festival. The table is set on the top deck of the ship.

A Jovial Crew

The crew of the Jovial Visitor is an eclectic bunch. They claim to have come from every corner of the world and therefore represent the world as it would be if it would be healed and unified. The crew includes practically every sentient species that walks this world, including: human, dwarf, elf, tiefling, genasi, hin, gnome, and tabaxi to name a few. The crew's captain is a tortle known only as Una, and she never refuses an opportunity to tell forgotten and strange tales while at port. Several plays written and performed were inspired by the tales Una tells. When asked how such a crew came together the answers are always vague.
