Amaya's Voyage

The record keeping of Amaya has told us much of this adventure, and yet many questions remain.
— Alicia Ravenwood, Historian

Overview

The voyage led by Captain Amaya Pneuma of the C.M.V. Marigold Apace across the five continents of the world. Other notable figures for the journey include Captain Pontius Ophiucus, Captain Darya Silvermoon, and Captain Svalis Xiloscient. The journey took about three years to complete, with each vessel returning to Quassus with a wealth of experiences, new knowledge, and a veritable treasure of artifacts.

Quassus Continent

This is where the voyage began, and where it ended. Amaya's adventures here largely consisted of preparing for the years-long voyage as well as dealing with the aftermath of her successful return.

Corona Continent

This is where the first of many great adventures happened. The most notable of which was Amaya's journey to and from The Avon'Col, the largest mountain in Awldor. Amaya was unable to successful climb the mountain, but her adventure there yielded rewards, much of it unforeseen, nonetheless. The expedition first landed on the northern-coast, and then made its way south-west as they attempted to find safe passage through the Corona Mountain Ring. Amaya's expedition would arrive here again, on the east coast, during the return leg of her journey. Amaya considered trying the Avon'Col again, but decided against it as by then almost every member in the expedition had become home-sick.

Glacialis Continent

Amaya and her expedition did not stay long here, for it was far colder than anyone expected. Captain Amaya had vowed to return one day with greater preparation so that she may uncover the secrets denied to her during the first visit.

Chivit Continent

During Amaya's adventures here, a great archipelago of sky islands was discovered. This was not discovered right away as is the nature of any great discovery. There was no sighting of it during the initial exploration on the western shores of the continent, and the jungle proved far too dense and dangerous for a trip to the other side of the continent. It was decided that the expedition would need to find some way to cross the continent to the other ocean. However, they eventually had to cross the northern regions of Planus before exploration of the western coast of Chivit could occur.   It was while sailing off the western coast of Chivit that Amaya's expedition sighted the mythical sky-island, which was actually a great archipelago that floated high in the sky- the Edellä Sky Archipelago as it came to be known. A Genasi scout greeted the expedition from Quassus and told them that a thriving Genasi community lived on the archipelago. The expedition never set foot on the sky islands as entry by outsiders was forbidden.   Of course, the two trips to Chivit were hardly wasted. The expedition brought back several artifacts as well as stories about The Moyo Crystals of the Mlezi Sky Islands.

Planus Continent

The expedition landed on only a few points on this continent as not many ports were available. The most notable segment of the journey here was the encounter with the Kraken at The Ancient Crater. The other notable segment was the expedition's journey over the northern, arctic wastes of the continent. The expedition could not find any rivers or canals through the continent during their voyage, though they met locals who claimed that there was an Ancient canal somewhere to the south. No one knew the precise location of this canal nor what it might look like. It had been centuries since anyone had used it, so it may have been lost during The Great Collapse.   During the trip on the eastern side of the continent, Amaya's crew did discover what was likely the largest floating island in the world, and it had a thriving Kingdom upon it.   It was around this time that Amaya had discovered the mythic Tiefling village, but she had promised to keep its secret safe. Captain Pontius had other plans and the matter was resolved via a duel. Amaya lived, Pontius did not.
