Awan

Its a world. Its a D&D world, so FANTASY! Its got dragons, dungeons, more races than you can shake a stick at, more monsters and enemies than you can ever remember, and is teeming with adventure, intrigue, growth, and DANGER!   Your going to be starting on a continent in Awan called Zaslaidan. We're starting in Zaslaidan because its the only continent I've created so far! :D There are other continents in Awan - I just haven't fleshed them out yet. Zaslaidan is very underpopulated compared to the other continents but you can read more about that on Zaslaidan's page.   For now, here are a few interesting, general facts about Awan:

Awan has two suns much like Tatooine. Alright its exactly like Tatooine. Sometimes its hard to make original content, OK?!

Awan is old; ages have come and gone and it is widely accepted that the elves have the most complete historical records of the past.

Magic is present throughout the world but is not seen everywhere. Different races have different affinities for magic making it more or less common within a populace. For example, most humans can't cast magic but every elf can cast at least a couple spells. For this reason a magic user will find he/she is treated with more awe, respect, fear, etc. in some populaces than in others.

Last fact: there are many religions throughout Awan but most of them are considered cults. Through much of Awan there is a general agreement regarding "gods" that there exists a Creator (also referred to as "The Light") who is responsible for making life and generally good things happening in life, and there is a Keeper who is generally known as an enemy of life and the cause of bad things in life, evil magics, and is the ruler (or "Keeper") of the underworld. Its accepted that dead spirits either join the Creator in The Light or the Keeper in the Underworld. The Light is seen as a place of comfort and peace and the Underworld is seen as a place of torment.
