The Moon-Goddess Temple of Ildonia

This temple in Ildonia's lower city is older than most of the buildings in the metropolis. The construction is dark stone with silver embellishments and fabric decorations as well as purple, yellow, and red stained glass. Some sections of the building are in disrepair and the heavy wooden doors let light pass through their edges as they have worn over time. A polished steel crescent moon symbol is hung from most archways and entryways within the main chambers.   The temple is run by Drow clerics who do healing works for the unfortunate residents of this largely ignored part of the city. They seem welcoming to almost anyone but will look upon well dressed individuals and highborn elves with some suspicion. Because daylight is sparse in this section of the city you'll find roughly half a dozen patrons moving in and out of the space with 3-4 active clerics at any given time. Once a month when the moon is in full view from the temple you'll find the church filled with folks giving thanks, small donations, prayer, etc. During the darkest new moons you may occasionally find cloaked and armed individuals in leather armor coming in and out of the basement and through the main chamber speaking of blessings and work to be done.   The connected grounds of the temple are used to grow dark friendly plants and fungus used for healing balms, potions, etc. Players can easily find access to religious incense, healing kits, healing balms, healing potions and more for the appropriate donations. Anyone interested in herbalism or medicine can volunteer to work for the temple and build the trust of its clerics. They cannot pay well but may donate goods or blessings upon the party for future adventures.   If visited during full moons and new moons the temple is the site of celebration featuring unique foods and wine normally only shared in the underdark. These treats feature heavy earthy and herbal flavors. Think truffle and licorice. The heady mixtures coat the mouth and throat. They are not high in alcohol but the mixtures have a heightening affect that makes the drinker blush.
