Behind The Waterfall
General Summary
As the party wakes up they prepare to go into the cave. It is overgrown with vines on the sides and ceiling. On the floor, there's a small stream of dirty water flowing out of the cave.
One by way they all come under the effects of the pollen here and start tripping like they are on drugs. The cave starts winding and they lose track of which way is up and which way is down.
As the winding cave stabilizes they see 6 flowers, almost 2 meters tall. They figure out they are flesh eating as Esseria cast minor illusion in front of them. Flind tries running past them, but the first one she encounters blows some pollen in her face and puts her to sleep. Brandeth pulls her back with a Thorn Whip, but crits so it deals a little more damage than anticipated.
They fight from a distance and only Goradaar gets put to sleep... and sprayed with acid... a grappled by a poisonous stinger. They manage to kill that flower quickly before the poison takes effect, but Goradaar is still taking acid damage. Eventually, they kill them all and spray water over Goradaar to wash off the acid. After some quick healing, they continue.
Brandeth detects more poisonous creatures from the northeast when they get to a Y-split, so they go left, which way leads up. They curve around and eventually get to a small pond from where the stream flows. Above it is a stalactite of which water drips slowly every now an then, filling up the pond. Suiv walks over and hits the water with his staff. The water raises up the sad face of water elemental levels with Suiv's. The water elemental is accompanied by 2 water weirds. They try to get out of there but some people get grappled and pulled back. The rogues make their way back and assume the others are following quickly. After some back and forth the take care of the water elemental and the water weirds and take a well-deserved rest.
