Orgoth Jungle

There are very few people who will enter the Orgoth Jungle.  It has been known for many years as a place where adventurers disappear.

Fauna & Flora

The edges of the jungle, where we have successfully explored, are dangerous. When you travel into the world, it is essentially to have enough food and water with you. There are many plants and berries and nuts which would appear edible. Many have been found to have medicinal properties, but none are edible without serious consequences.   The most notable flora are as follows:    Gorgeberry  The gorgeberry looks very similar to a raspberry, but is a vibrant blue.  They grown on short bushes with small thorns.  If a gorgeberry is eaten, there is a strong compulsion to eat the rest of the berries on the bush.  If only a single berry is eaten, it is often not fatal.  Often this will cause visual and audible hallucinations, sensory obsession and very quick speech.  However, if multiple are eaten the result is always fatal.  Death will follow in about an hour, symptoms during that hour include the above, as well as fever, shaking and a blue foam at the mouth.    Blackroot  This is a root, similar to a carrot, usually 3 to 7 inches long.  Above ground, there are long black stalks topped with small bursts of leaves.  The root has been found to have some medicinal use, and is still being tested further.  It must be dug up very carefully.  The outside is firm, but protects a slightly soft damp interior. If this juice come into contact with skin it will create an acid-like burn. The root must be dug out intact and boiled for three to four hours.  Once cooled, the root should be disposed up with minimal contact.  The liquid can be used as an astringent and antiseptic.

History

For many years, most believed that the Orgoth Jungle was uninhabited.  Humans who travelled into the region by more than a day almost never returned.  And those who did return? They were never truly the same, a haunting look in their eye that never went away.

Tourism

We know now that the Orgoth Jungle is inhabited by at least one tribe of Orcs. Even still, there is no tourism to the jungle.  There are a very few towns where tentative trade has been established.  Most of the towns though have no interaction with the denizens of the jungle.
