Priests & religion of Eradia
The priests in the Kingdom of Eradia consist of many different sects with their own ideas about the gods, however, there are many things these sects all agree on. According to the priesthood, all gods should be respected without ever forgetting any of them. As such one cannot simply pray to a god, instead eight prayers are required, one to each god, whenever praying. This keeps all of the gods happy and avoids the wrath of the gods by ignoring one. there is however no restriction in place on the length of each prayer, as a result, Eradian citizens often give a long prayer to one god, followed by seven standard one-sentence prayers to the others. One priest in Starwater keeps his prayers especially short, when asked to bless a newborn he had the following to say: "May the lord of life bless this child and bless her with health and prosperity for many years to come. May the lady of death grant bless her with a long life and may the lords of darkness and nature and the ladies of order and light bless her too." Since then debate has been raging in the priesthood on whether such a prayer is allowed.
The priesthood itself has many local temples, with a larger temple in larger cities, while some priest prefer isolation and will create monasteries in isolated places, most priests live in monasteries inside of the cities, separate from temples in that they don't hold services for citizens, though most accept people in the temple. Regular temple visits are by no means required. However, it is seen as virtuous and is often done when people feel the prayers are more important than usual.
