Ilmarie

One of the First Gods and a member of the original trio, she helped bring shape and order to the world of Avanielda in its infancy, and also imparted her nature to the Ilarin, who were the First People.
Ilmarie and Taroth are the parents of Thuris, Arkelon, and Darnhuir.
Ilmarie and Penion are the parents of Bretalie and Tirinie.
Ilmarie's dalliance with Penion caused a rift between her and Taroth, and ever since that time they are often at odds with each other. Many peoples say that this is why any creature that dwells on land risks suffering her displeasure when venturing out upon the waters. Her wrath is shattering to behold--Ilmarie was the primary agent of the destruction of the kingdom of Astarien in the Whelming.
The Ilpenarin (sometimes erroneously called Elves) are strongly linked to Ilmarie and Penion. The Tarili are strongly linked to Ilmarie and Taroth.

Domain

Ilmarie has dominion over all the waters of the earth, and her lesser descendants administer the rivers, lakes, and creatures of the sea for her.
She wields the power of fertility, for her waters surround and nourish infants in the womb, and provide Penion's lifegiving rain.
She also presides over prophecy, wisdom, music, and knowledge. She is the nemesis of Tifarie the Firemistress.
