The Dancing Glade

The Dancing Glade is an area nestled deep within the Wispwood, a forest with a dark reputation in the Barony of Essenwald. The Wispwood remains one of the few places in the Kingdom of Albion that contains traces of Aethyr that are still active, though only a handful of people are aware of this fact and many avoid it simply because of the beasts said to roam there. Because of this, or perhaps because the location of the Glade changes seemingly at will, the area is known to very few people and accessible by even fewer.
To those that do stumble upon the Glade by accident or manage to navigate directly to it using the Sight the area within is an oasis of peace compared to the surrounding wood. An aura of calm and tranquility permeates the air as wind rustles through a verdant meadow, grasses and flowers carpeting the floor and insects buzzing along busily throughout their tiny kingdom.
At night it becomes evident how the Dancing Glade got its name, as fireflies perform enrapturing dances throughout the night, mesmerising those who see them. To those with the Sight, or should the flows of Aethyr be particularly strong, the performance is even more spectacular as wisps glide and meander amongst the fireflies, casting displays of multicoloured light like fireworks against the darkness of the night sky.
One legend associated with the Glade told in hushed tones in the inns and taverns of Essenwald is that of the White Stag. This beast is said to have a pale ethereal glow that hurts the eyes and is thought to roam the area surrounding the Glade, dispelling shadows and driving away beasts that would seek to disturb it. Many hunters have risked venturing into the Wispwood in order to slay this magnificent creature and claim its ghostly hide for themselves but none have yet succeeded, and some have not returned at all.
Geography
A magnificent meadow, carpeted with waist-high grasses and flowers where the pervasive mist of the Wispwood disappears and the area is dappled with golden light during the day and bathed in the light of the moon during the night.
Ecosystem
The Glade appears to defy all of the principles of natural philosophy that would normally apply. It is distinctly more diverse than the surrounding Wispwood and seems never to be reclaimed by the forest. Indeed, the very location of the Dancing Glade seems to change from day to day and week to week, but its condition always appears to remain the same.
