Naming Traditions
Family names
Fenris lineages has designated names that are passed from generation to generation. To clarify a specific member of the family, nicknames, numbers, and titles are given those of the same name.
If a Fenris of a long and respected lineage marries into another family, the spouse's last name is changed to the lineage's last name, no matter if it is the bride or groom.
Plenty of Fenris last names end in -son or -tir. Both are carryovers from Ancient Fenris naming traditions, which gave children a last name referring to them as the child of a particular person. The suffix -son was for sons, and -tir was for daughters.

Gender Ideals
While both genders are valued in every aspect of culture, men are traditionally the providers of the family, while the women protect and rear the children. However, a new dynamic formed after the Vifratta first arrived, which were women that headed off into battle with their husbands. Both genders were valued on the battlefield as early as their days on the Fenris Isles, but it became more clear after women joined in the First War and aided their husbands in driving the Veiðr back into their Hives.
