Aurora

Aurora was believed to have been created by the breath of another world, hence the name. The telling of the history of Aurora differs slightly by race and religion, but one point is agreed upon by all: that there are other worlds out there; we are not alone.   Aurora is comprised of five main land masses, each being it's own continent. Only three of the continents have been explored in their entirety, but the remaining two still hold quite a bit of mystery surrounding them. One of the unexplored continents, called the "Lost World" by many, was thought to have been inhabited once a long time ago, but was destroyed by some kind of evil magic. The other unexplored continent, known as "Ice World", caps the northern tip of the globe, and is protected by extremely cold weather. Very few explorers that have attempted to completely map this area have returned; very little is known about this land.   Each of the three inhabited land masses are dotted with cities and towns of varying sizes, each with their own culture and appeal. Religion and power seem to creep into every angle of life on Aurora and divide people geographically and politically.   Aurora seems to have an innate power that leaks from its core into every inhabitant on the planet. Whether you are aware of it or not, you are affected by this power and it can shape you for good or for bad if you allow it to do so. Throughout history, some people have learned how to harness this power and use it to their advantage. Whether or not you believe it comes from a diety, or from the ground itself, it can be used for good or for evil. This magic is used in many places for many different reasons. Some places embrace this magic as a means for industry, while some places ban it altogether, exiling or putting to death anyone who seeks to use it.
