The Arcane Observatory
Founded nearly 2000 years ago the Arcane Observatory is the largest and most prestigious educational arcane institution in all of Aurelimoore, located in the mountains northeast of Whetmoore. Known to produce the highest caliber of mages and wizards of the utmost regard throughout the realm. A great many of their students have gone on to become instructors within the Observatory, a few even went on to become the Archmagus of the observatory and lead the institution.
The Arcane Observatory has courses covering all of the various schools of magic, drawing both those highly skilled in magic, as well as those who are just starting their journey into the arcane arts. Many of the world's greatest mages have graduated from the Observatory, or at least studied here.
Structure
The Archmagus is at the head of the Observatory. Below them is the Council of Mystics, a council of arcane practitioners of the highest order from each of the schools of magic known as the Arcanists of the various schools of magic. Next we have the various Professors and the instructors.
The more experienced students are known as Acolytes, while the newer less experienced are known as Arcane Initiates.

Public Agenda
The mission of the Arcane Observatory is to discover and preserve magical knowledge, disseminate that knowledge from one generation to the next, promote the free and open study of magic in all its forms, and enhance the lives of people throughout Aurelimoore through the use of magic.
Assets
The Arcane Observatory is home to a massive library known as the Athenaeum of the Oracles, within the center of the observatory.
