Idris - The Dark Moon

There are three moons about Auracane, Arboris the green moon, Argentis the silver moon, and Idris - The Dark Moon. Because of its darkness, it was once thought to be volcanic and its crust composed of basalt with an atmosphere so thick that the light of the stars behind it became distorted through the heavy ash and fumes the surface would thrust up so violently. The one thing that sages of old could not understand was any lack of light projected from our trinary suns that could reflect from the surface of Idris as it did with the other moons, causing their phases, nor any sign of the red volcanic light of magma, lava or volcanic dust, as we so surely see from the volcanoes of the Trove mountain range.   Through careful observation and thousands of experiments and measurements, it is all but completely proven that the Dark Moon is vital to the mechanations of magic on Auracane, and indeed may affect Argentis and Arboris equally, and very well may actually be the source of that very energy that all magicians use.   Furthermore, it is also known that much of this "void energy" is directly linked with the magic that allows the undead to be reanimated and retain motion, and power the terrible forces of necromancy that plague our beautiful world.   To date, there is a new popular theory put forward by none other than the esteemed Theodore Crumb, astronomer, inventor, historian and mathematician that considers the idea that Idris does not rotate around Auracane like Arboris and Argentis, and that indeed these two moons are neither moons of Auracane either, but planets in their own right!   Initially considered preposterous, as the three moons annually align, with the large Argentis in the background, Arboris forming the green iris and Idris the pupil of the Great Eye, but upon scrutinisation of those initial observable distortions of that alignment, Theodore Crumb proposed that it was in fact Idris at the centre of this cosmic planetary dance, somehow being smaller but far more dense in nature, as to afford such gravity to make Auracane, Arboris and Argetis perform a perfect and delicate orbit around it that somehow reflects the exact same pattern as we see in our triquetra symbol, not only used to describe the unity and harmony of our three stars, but also the symbol of the Fates. To this end, Crumb surmises that in order that we may observe the Great Eye, Idris must be at the centre, with our world Auracane positioned in a closer orbit than Arboris which in turn is closer than Argentis, making the size of what we thought to be our green and silver moons somewhat substantially larger than our own world.   Crumb goes on to theorise that Idris is not a moon or planet at all, but a great void, somehow connected to another gigantic space, another universe, and the phenomenon of magic is the result of the the Dark Moon not only consuming what may be sucked into it, but also somehow ejecting the very energy and physical rules of that connecting universe into our own.
