Whirl-Leaf

Whirl-Leaf (or "Leaf") folks have roots dating back hundreds of years to the time of the Hero-Saints. The largest population of Leaves is found within and around the Windy Forest. Deep within the Forest is an ancient village that Whirl-Leaf folks consider their origin. They named themselves after the Forest's iconic windwheel trees.
The Forest is immense, and many different Whirl-Leaf villages exist. None of these are considered an allied territory of the Kingdom of Ignis, just as the Forest itself is not considered to be the Kingdom's territory. Most have formed agreements with the adventurer's guild to allow them into the Forest to maintain maps and protect wildlife.
Dual-Divine belief is a key element of Whirl-Leaf culture. Common beliefs held by Ignis citizens brush aside older myths in favor of the Hero-Saints legends. Ignis society, while large and thriving, isn't very inclusive of other beliefs, so few Whirl-Leaf people decide to immigrate.
Laurel, Priestess of Dual-Divine is a Whirl-Leaf woman who wishes to bridge the gap between their differences.
Technologies found in the oldest Whirl-Leaf villages do an excellent job of harnessing the breeze of the Windy Forest. The people living there refuse to share this technology with Ignis. Due to cultural differences, Leaves find the Ignis desire for more energy to be "greedy and disturbing".
