Ancient Shrine
The Ancient Shrine is an Anchor of Aufyra. A few stone structures exist in this zone, collectively referred to as the Ancient Shrine. Because the earth here is a strange geological exception & untouched by time, it's an important place of research.
The main temple is said to have been crafted by dragons during the age of the Hero-Saints. In current times, the Shrine grounds are a school campus mainly attended by dragons.
Purpose / Function
Thousands of years ago, the Shrine was created to be a stable, safe place for the people of Aufyra to take shelter. Battles between the Hero-Saints and Dark God tore the very planet, so it was made specifically to be an above-ground "bunker", one of the few places to seek refuge.
Alterations
Capsule Magic lighting and other technologies of comfort have been added over time.
While dragons have always maintained ownership of the Shrine, they grant human researchers temple rooms as boarding and a place for research equipment. There are several active human offices at the Ancient Shrine at a time.
The Shrine hosts a dragon school, and it participates in "foreign exchange" with human students.
Architecture
Carved dark stone, composed of a mineral blend that sparkles with metallic mica flakes.
History
After the cataclysmic Saint-God kerfuffle, the races of Aufyra used the Shrine as a base while they rebuilt their world. The zone serves as a reminder of the oldest dragon-human alliance.
