The Licyret (lai-si-ret)

Introduction

The Licyret are people of the Licy-Ater Atocites, which flies at the North part of Atocitera .
They are known for their scary and deformed posture, which feels alien to many others and causes others to look down upon Licyret. Licyrets are however more than capable to prove their worth as survivors of Atocitera. They do so via their vast knowledge of monsters and formidable quick deployment traps.   These traps are the pride of Licyret engineers, with construction secrets deeply guarded for a long generation. While the traps used by Licyret are designed to be reusable, the ones provided to other Atocites are always designed to be used only once. All people from other Atocite interested in their traps will have to go heavily out of their way to get them, as the demand is simply that high.
"Just look at them!"
"How despicable!"
"How can they even survive on the ground below?"
"Why should I fear these weaklings?"

Various insults the Licyrets hear from others

Visuals

Licyret are pale, thin humans, reaching commonly a short height of only 150cm at their peaks. Usually clothed in their special clothes made from Light Flow.   This lower height is caused by their skeletal structure, which changed after centuries and generations of crouching in wait. If the Licyret would manage to straighten their spine up, they could easily reach up to 2m.   While their bodies and arms are thin to increase their speed and achieve the lowest weight, their legs adapted to hold the weight of their body along with their belongings for prolonged periods during the long raids. As such, while the punches of Licyret can be safely ignored, their kicks can be formidable if placed on the right spots.   Their pale skin is caused by generations of excessive hiding in Light Flow when only eyes were allowed to receive any light. At some point, the Licyret started reacting very poorly to sunlight, getting sunburnt in mere minutes of continuous exposure. This started an endless cycle of hiding in the Light Flow from the sun, thus not getting enough exposure to adapt to it.

Combat and Raiding Habits

The Licyret habits during raids involve a lot of camouflage, hiding, observing, and clever, decisive usage of accumulated knowledge of the ecosystem. As such, the Licyret are the only ones using trickery against stronger predators to cause them to give up on their prey.
Among their tricks also belong clever manipulation of Light Flow, scaring pack monsters into behaving as needed, and teamwork during egg snatching.   Licyret are one of the two groups constantly fighting for the post of people with the most knowledge and control over their area of Atocitera. But compared to their rival and their symbiotic approach, the methods of Licyret are extremely intrusive when put in action.   When it comes to combat, which the Licyret are trying to avoid as much as possible, their fragile bodies suffer in close and mid-range melee combat. They also do not have the physique required for propper long-range attacks. What they are left with are their cooperated alpha strikes from their hiding positions and famous trapmaking.   The cooperated strikes are initiated with one controller, who moves a visible bit of Light Flow in front of the target's visual sensors. Just to make visible numbers from the Light Flow for the countdown and to blind the target before the ranged attack strike.
Thanks to their vast knowledge of the environment and its inhabitants the Licyret are also very good at creating improvised traps. However compared to the almost unhealthy stock of pocket quick deployment traps, the improvised traps are very slow and many Licyret rather flee the combat rather than risk full confrontation with monsters.   The approach of Licyret to Raiding allows them to last in raids for hours, sometimes even overnight during the calm nights. Light, in this case, is not an issue, as the Licyret are trained to use and cultivate Light Flow from a very young age and their Light Flow clothing supports them with a large enough emergency stock of Light Flow if needed.

Products they are known for

  Traps
The traps made by Licyret engineers are the best on Atocitera.
It does not matter what is the target, their engineers either have the trap for the job or will design one based on information provided to them. These engineers will also commonly ask Raiders to bring up the materials required for certain designs, or if they bring materials the engineer seems useful, they get a discount for other traps they might require.
What do you mean "use it"?!
I am an engineer, I did not went through all that mess to get their trap to just "use" it!
I will dismantle it, and learn its secret!
Common last words of non Licyret engineers
Many engineers from other Atocites tried many times to learn the secrets of the Licyret traps. But any tampering with the trap will spring it, often killing the curious engineer in the process.
Lyciret engineers always design their traps to be very deadly, not only to kill monsters with them but also to kill any daring engineer who would try to learn about their designs. Engineers who attempted to reverse engineer Lyciret's traps always found out, that many pieces were destroyed after the trap was used. Thus the secret of the traps design was protected.   Clothes of Light Flow
A weirdness that amazes everyone the first time they see them That are the Clothes of Light Flow.
These clothes are just a net of durable strings, that serves as the surface for Light Flow to latch onto. These clothes tend to require specific care, during which the excess Light Flow is removed and repurposed elsewhere. As such, the more Licyret are wearing the Light Flow clothing, the more Light Flow is available to produce more clothes and other Light Flow related jars.   Training Flow jars
Training jars favorited by anyone who ever hoped to learn some abilities and master the Flow. As the Light flow is visible by the naked eye, it makes it the perfect training material to start with. Due to the replicating nature of Light Flow, these jars need to be crated non-transparent, as any light coming inside the jar would cause the Light Flow inside it to multiply and possibly explode in bursts of light while consuming itself.

Relationship with others

Licyret are shy, secretive, and paranoid toward others. With the level of their paranoia based on the amount of residual Light Flow in their bodies. Due to these attributes, they are not as immersed in trading or various challenges imposed by Council of Planners. While other people from other Atocites might insult them because of their extensive wariness and distancing, they are far above these petty insults, as it is survival that matters on Atocitera, and they are very confident in their approach.
Remember, they might be shy, distant, fragile... Generaly looking weak.
But if you should treat them with respect. As they already outlived few other Atocites.
What we see as weakness, they use as strength.
They do not make mistakes.
