River Good
The River Good is a major watercourse in the Suthernhart region flowing from glacial streams in the Mountains of Winter's Shadow to the Bay of Hammers. Along its course it flows through the Barley Sea and into the Goodwater Valley. It was named after Laird Good, a folk hero who according to legend, tricked a cabal of evil witches into slaying the monsters of the valley before himself killing the magically-drained and helpless witches, in the process making the Goodwater Valley safe for habitation.
The River Good provides a vast quantity of irrigation water to the fields of the Lysandrian Empire, to the point of being largely drained of its water by the time it reaches the city of Goodwater. Once a major navigable waterway and the seat of Goodwatrian economy and influence, it is a shadow of its former self, with much of the previously-submerged river bank exposed to air.
