This series of encyclopedic books, titled The Lands of the Lion, has been written by many of the highest ranking Archivists of the larger Archive collective as a gift toward High-King Leobert the Liberator and others of his line. These texts are meant to inform current and future lords, kings and others alike of the lands in which they reside and even those outside. That their rules may be prosperous and peaceful, and that the knowledge shared within this text may lead them to realize they are not alone in this world.   Proper credit to each of the writers can be found in appendix D20 at the end of the book.   - Head Archivist, Merlon Grimm. The Lands of the Lion, Preface
The Lower Kingdoms have stood united under the Lower Land Alliance for 50 years since they broke free from the Empire of Flowers to the south. The region is isolated from the rest of the Jormungard continent by the large Dragonscale Mountains to its west and the Golden River to the south, a wide divide between the two landmasses spanning the entire continent.   The Lower Land Alliance is held together through both a series of marriages between royal houses and a centralized guard supervised by the elected High-Royal house. The current High-King is Leobert the Liberator of House Leowen. They supervise the lionguard -the Alliance-funded guard- and they make sure that peace is kept in the realm. House Leowen rules from the Lion's Den, the large castle in the capital of Crown's Rest.
