Atlas Hunts

Humans evolved a working warp drive in 2134, managed to get to Alpha Centauri [4.37 lightyear] and back in 2136. After creating the warp drive, Atlas Corporation became the number one family household name in robotics and space.   Humans pioneered long distance space travel on their side of the galaxy as the first race, and realize they're pretty much completely alone in the universe. Spending the next 150 years developing and mastering spacefaring, they find a planet with life on it, introducing the Atlanteans as the first extra-terrestrial contact in 2287.   With the ability to buy commercial space faring vessels in 2300, Atlas Corp. turned out the Homestead Act of 2300, giving money and a free ship to anyone who either discovers another alien race or gathers a sufficient amount of data on the various planets able to be reached through the latest Atlas Warp Drive's 25 lightyear warp capacity.   I'm a novice worldbuilder, this is my first world, and I wanted to create something vast and interesting, set in an advanced sci-fi future with space travel and futuristic technology. My initial inspiration for this world is the Valerian series, with its races and worlds far and plenty for my amusement.
