Maria Stark

Lady Maria de Stark

Atlantan socialite, daughter of the Familia Carbonell, one of the biggest weapons (and later mechanics and electronics) manufacturers in the Atlantis.
Born to Lord Antonio de Collins-Carbonell and Lady Eva de Collins-Carbonell, she met Lord Howard de Stark at the Independence Ball 1966. The famous Casanova was struck by her beauty and humbled by her wit. Despite drastic social disproportion, he began courting her (his lucrative contract with the Carbonell Industries was already in place for over two decades as Howard and the Headship Giovanni Carbonell fought together in World War). For three years she evaded him, convinced she'd be only another notch on his bedpost. In 1969 Howard finally convinced her to his intentions and they married on 19 May 1969.
After Maria became part of the Familia de Stark, she consolidated various social programs, welfare and charity functions into one system. Her work was temporarily suspended when little more than a year after the wedding, a baby boy was born and named after his late grandfather. However, due to a difficult delivery, Maria could not bear any more children and spent several months on bed rest.
Since 1971 she divided her time equally between her son and her foundation that allowed her to scout other Familiae and Domi for gifted children who would benefit from association or patronage with De Starks.
Her charitable work was brutally interrupted by the car accident in which she died along her husband.
