Journal of the Society of Archeology

Recently with the advances in magic, the study of natural sciences, and the growth of the importance of higher educational systems, scholars have begun not just publishing whole books on the topics of their life study but building academic reputations by publishing in annual or bi-annual journals. These journals contain smaller articles than a whole book or pamphlet, but none-the-less important shorter pieces of work that might not fit into larger publications. These are fully leather-bound journals, designed to be placed in the finest libraries, both private and public, around the world.   Every year the Society of Archeology publishes an annual with quality renowned articles and papers detailing the interesting finds from around the world. It is translated into multiple languages and released to the libraries and universities all over Europa, as well as private for private sale. The Journal contains some of the more interesting discoveries from around the known world, and particularly around Atlantica and Africanus. Mages and scholars from all over Europa compete to publish in the journal, as it is considered an academic honor and "feather in their hat" to do so.   The The Antikathonum keep a close eye on the editors of this journal.  All of them are scholars from the more famous universities already, such as Howth University, and there are already agents in place there.  However, the Antikathonum are constantly on the watch for tampering.  They are worried that cults might use the journal as a way of gaining insight into ways of acquiring more artifacts, or worse.  They also use the editorial agents to get advance notice of anything that might have otherwise slipped through the cracks of their intelligent network.
"I worked for years to get into the journal.  I entered 3 submissions, but after 5 years they took the first one.  I started getting offers from universities after that but it was exhausting!"   ~Anonymous scholar
