Session 27: Que Kira, Kira

General Summary

Two down, two to go. While the party tries to figure out where the paintings of Jake Scott and Raikira Vorjid are, Jindaar Vorjid refuses to listen to the party's advice, and insists on helping to rescue his sister. While Phaeradina, William and Gul'Khaan investigate the library, Nil-enor gets curious about the fragment of Black Stone in the central room. He calls the party's attention, who see a strange phenomenon
Eerie blue veins have begun creeping into the walls and furniture. The source: the black stone. Sensing that time is not on their side, Phaeradina, William, Gul'khaan and Jindaar begin searching the mansion. The painting of Raikira is found inside the dining room, and the party, minus Nil-enor, head in. A trepidatious Jindaar goes with them.
The group finds themselves at the base of one of the mountains that makes up the Collapsing Heights, due north of the city of Muli. Phaeradina asks whether Jindaar recognizes the place, being so attached at the hip to Raikira as he is. The dragonborn gives a snooty response, but is ultimatly cowed into telling the party that he has no memory of this place. This is distressing for him, as he and Raikira have never been far apart.
Phaeradina decides to haul the dragonborn onto her back, with the distressing ape, and the group begins the climb.
As they approach the summit, Mephiles butts in to tell the group that there is a demon nearby. Meanwhile, Gul'khaan translates the odd chanting atop the mountain: a draconic chant that portends a desire to summon something long lost.
As they crest the mount, the party spots 4 figures in hooded robes, surrounding an altar with a strange, and imperceptible object atop it. Any attempt to sneak up on the group is thwarted when Gul'Khaan accidentally trots on a Scream Frog. The leader of this small group throws a fireball at the approaching party, right as Jindaar spots a 16-year old Raikira amongst the cultists
A battle rages, and at some point, William collapses unconscious. Jindaar attempts to stop his father, who declares that if this boy IS his son, then he is a disappointment. Eventually, Phaeradina kills Dojin, and Raikira is gently lead out of the painting.
Returning to the baronesses mansion, Raikira and Jindaar slump to the floor to rest, and a barely stable William is revived as Nil-enor calls out a prayer to Ephine. With the blue viens creeping further and further, time seems to be running short for the party. Only Jake to recover.
