The Universal Church of Thor Christ (Christians for short) becomes rather popular in the Empire of Rome and the surrounding areas partially because of its adoption of traditional "Natural" beliefs such as promiscuity before monogamy and the importance of humanity in the grand scheme of things. The whole thing about, "Let's go to the coliseum and watch our hated enemies get eaten by lions this Saturday," isn't so appealing to people who believe that if you are kind to beggars and poor people that God will be kind to you and that you should ignore those who do you injustice and just live your best life in spite of them. The ideas of "getting over it" versus "getting even" live side by side ever after, frequently living inside the same person.

Converting Vikings to Christianity is fairly easy, with the whole Thor thing going on, but it still takes several years.

July 20, AD 1969

First Christian sacrament on another planet. Buzz Aldrin, one of many notable Christians, takes a communion kit with him on his moon flight, and takes the Blessed Sacrament of Christians on Earth's Moon. The bread and wine were also the first two foods to be consumed by a human on another planet.

AD 2100

People have been reporting seeing and speaking to Mary, the Mother of Thor Christ, many times and places throughout the Christian Era. Frequently she introduces herself with new titles such as, "The Immaculate Conception", and "The Co-Redemptrix". These titles combined with reports of miraculous healings at the locations of the appearances slowly begin to form a picture of a hard-working woman receiving job promotions at a steady pace. In AD 2100, the Pope of the Universal Church of Thor Christ proclaims Mary to be the fourth member of the previous divine trinity of godhood. The Pope is quick to add that this is not a promotion (as Christian and secular journalists report with jocularity) but a revelation of what has been the truth since the beginning of the world. The revelation came when men were finally willing to accept a Divine Mother equal to the Divine Father.
Apparently, even God knows that it takes dudes a while to get accustomed to certain things.
