Space Conqueress - Rank

The title is intended to be all reaching, implying all space armadas are under her (or his) leadership. That of course is never the case, but in the early 25th centuries, many disparate fleets of space ships find that it is easier to reap the benefits of everyone working together by forcing the issue into a hierarchy, as ancient tribes had done in the equally barbaric past. The title of Space Conqueress implied that all of space would eventually be ruled by one head.
The role goes to the leader who defeats another leader's space armada in the battlefield of space, eliciting a surrender. Then by tradition the Space Conqueress leads both space navies as one combined force for a period of time.
This period of time is one day.
On the next day, the conquered leader is allowed to fight for dominance again. But, this fight is only between the two leaders and televised and reported across the known colonies of space. If she wins the mono e mono fight, she retains the title of Space Conqueress and control of the whole shebang.
This possibility that each fighting force might become dominant again every day yet might become submissive the day after tends to blend the two formerly warring cultures into more friendly competitors. The defeat is not so great a loss, and the victory is fleeting, so one must rule well and set precedents that protect the losing forces from excessive losses, for the winners might become the losers protected by those precedents any day.
A notable and understandable power of the Space Conqueress is to choose her mate. When our story opens, the current Space Conqueress has set herself up as a modern Cleopatra by choosing the leader of the recently attacking armada as her mate. As such their daily battle can literally begin in bed before breakfast, and settle the politics for the day immediately.

If a male takes the role, he would be referred to as Space Conqueror.
