Nightmare Sea

The Nightmare Sea, formerly known as the West Sea, is a sea on the western coast of the Krait Empire. Close to shore, it houses a variety of sea life and makes for prosperous life in coastal cities. Further out, however, it's well-known that trying to cross the Nightmare Sea could cost your life. Strong tropical storms, dangerous monsters and deadly illnesses beset almost every sailor that dares its waters. It's strongly believed that no benefits can be gained from risking any journey that crosses through it.
Following The Ardent's expedition, evidence of monsters that can kill even an S-class adventurer arose. Most folks didn't need even more reason to avoid the sea, but got it anyway.
