Atar

The world of Atar is overseen by five ancient dragons; whether they are gods or merely powerful beasts depends only on who you ask, but their magic bends and shapes the world wherever they touch it.   Long ago, one of the dragons called up a great forest around her roost. It grew, with all the strength and savagery of the dragon that seeded it. Monsters roamed the depths, but the trees themselves were as dangerous, and they drove the settled, city-building people of the South into the broad plains of the North, roamed by nomads.   The conflicts of their descendants have become as powerful a force of change and chaos as the dragons themselves, as the world seeks balance only to find itself irrevocably changed, generation after generation.
