Dwarven Kaiser

"Nam Kaizeri et patriae!"

The Dwarven Kaiser is the elected monarch who rules over the Dwarven Imperium. He is elected by the imperators of the imperial army, who themselves are elected from among the oldest legionaries of a legion. The kaiser is both the military and political leader of the imperium and personifies the glory and order of his empire.

Qualifications

In theory a possible candidate has to be a imperator with a successful military career in order to get elected as Kaiser. However in practise an candidate is often selected from the previous Kaiser's direct family who each spent large sums of money for their election campaigns.

Appointment

After the election the new kaiser is brought to a shrine at the top of the highest mountain of the Dwarven Imperium for his coronation. At this shrine the newly elected kaiser sits down, with the wild winds flowing across his cheeks, while a high ranking dwarven priest places the imperial crown on top of his head. Once the crown is placed securely unto his head the kaiser will stand up, and all subjects attending the coronation will raise their gladius in salute.

Duties

As political leader it is the job of the kaiser to keep the peace across the realm. He does this by serving as a judge in nation wide issues and by making sure that the many mountainous roads of his realm are well kept and protected from bandits. As the military leader of the imperium the kaiser has to make sure the military stays in shape and is well drilled for any potential wars it might find itself in. It is expected from the kaiser that he leads his troops on the battlefield during important battles, although in reality this is seldom the case unless the battle seems like an easy victory.

Benefits

Once the Kaiser is elected all other imperators swear fealty to his Supremacy until he either dies or suffers a disgrace so great it dishonours the entire imperium.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Kaiser wears a crown with a base resembling a wreath of laurels which supports two arches topped by a Aquila. the base is made of gold, silver, and dwarven steel and decorated with 2000 diamonds, 17 lapis, 11 Alexandrites, and 25 pearls. Inside it has a cap made out of quoll fur and trimmed with the royal purple. The crown has a special place for an Astroraptor feather in the middle, but this one was lost during the Troigh Leud.

The kaiser wears a cape almost completely dyed purple, with more quoll fur at its borders.
