Eating of Yeti Hearts
In the Frost Giants and Goliaths communities’ children about the age of 16 will venture into the mountains in search of their first kill. A Yeti. This will mark them as adults.
After they've made their kill, they are to return home with the yeti corpse where they will have a feast (many children come home at or around the same time). Every part of the yeti(s) is used, nothing goes to waste. Bones and hide are made into clothes (the children make these themselves), claws and teeth are made into jewelry, and meat is cut up and displayed on a grand table for all to eat.
Before anyone can dig in the victor is ceremoniously handed the heart, they will hold it high letting the blood drip across their arms and heads. The crowd roars as the victor takes the first bite of his first kill! It is a glorious and honorable time! The eating of the whole heart is not required as some like to dry out and preserve a part to make a necklace for their future mate or to hand down to their own spawn.
The killing of the yeti and eating of the heart is also considered a trial to enter the guild. Once they have completed this rite of passage the children are expected to survive on their own. They can join the guild and accept jobs. In their guild hall, or grand hall they have the skulls of every yeti hung on the walls with the hand and clan marks of the one that slayed him. Some also have the necklaces made from their hearts on them. Each clan/person has their own way of honoring those that have come before them.
The grand chieftain of the Pale Devils (their guild name) has a special heart flesh necklace…
