Legacy

The Legacy is a semi-sentient piece of magic designed to choose and/or locate the next ruler of Astral in the absence of a clear line of succession. It makes this decision based off of criteria its creator programmed into it.

History

At some point before the events of Lost Beneath the Waves, a catastrophic event ended up wiping out the entire royal family, causing a civil war. The victor of the civil war then created the Legacy, to ensure that such a war would never happen again.
