Meteorites Church
The Meteorites Church, or the Church of Meteorites, is a small religious organisation - or cult, centred around the worship of Outer Space objects, such as meteors - for which the organisation is named, asteroids, and comets. The church has been disbanded and reformed dozens of times since its founding, with many leaders rising and falling during that time.
Along with their worship of these objects, the cultists also tend to deify their leaders - which has led to their classification as a cult by most governments. In the past, when the Meteorites had much larger numbers than they do today, many sects were formed around such leaders. These sects often came into conflicts with governments, and on at least three occasions the sects committed mass suicide.
The Meteorites are officially designated a cult by the Federation of Anfieden and Allied Planets, the 4th Empire of Jerace, and the Republic of Osheni. The Kingdom of Apalachi and the Kingdom of Apreas classify them as a potentially dangerous organization, but the Meteorites are officially not a cult in these nations. Meteorites have in the past clashed with hundreds of police forces - including Federation Congressional Police, intelligence organisations, and even military forces - including both the Imperial Navy of Jerace and the Federation Interstellar Navy.
