Nestled in the cozy confines of the Hestia star system, Asterius is deemed by all who live upon it the least fortunate of the other planetary bodies in the neighborhood. Tidally locked to its two small stars, one side of the planet is covered entirely by a relentless desert, and the other by an unforgiving glacier. Between these two wastelands lies the belt of islands centering the planet, the only place where sensible people are able to find and create their livelihoods. Years are marked off by what sun is turned towards the planet's surface, days are marked off by what little variation in the latitude can be found, and life is hard-earned. Welcome home.
