The Romance of Sir Martin and Lady Hana Ori

According to Roani legends surrounding their Great Exodus from Tere de Ro, the heroes Sir Martin the Brave and Lady Hana Ori were secretly in a relationship. It began long before the Exodus when Martin was just a humble squire for the Church and Lady Hana was merely an acolyte of her school and they encountered each other during a tournament in the city of Han'Ori. Naturally their romance was more or less forbidden by circumstance- Lady Hana was the daughter of the Duke of Ori'Xia and was to be wed to another noble-- someone irrelevant and long forgotten surely.  At the same time, the Church required its members to only fraternize with members of the clergy so as to prevent conflicts of interest in their service to the public. Their relationships were also strictly regulated and managed, but Martin had opted out in favor of remaining dedicated to his duties and development as a paladin. In retrospect, this was probably to avoid the complications of juggling two relationships at once while living a life of sword and faith. Yet the two had their chance to enjoy each other's company without much interference during the Civil War and the Great Exodus when they formed a party along with the other heroes of the time. Supposedly they eloped before Martin's Martyrdom in the Bleached Hells, resulting in Lady Hana's mysterious pregnancy and birth of healthy twins. The children could be seen bearing some of Martin's distinctive features: while they had Lady Hana's round cheeks, lithe figure, and almond-shaped eyes, they also possessed their alleged father's green eye color, his rich dark complexion, bold nose, and reddish curls. Yet for whatever reason Lady Hana refused to ever speak as to the father of her children, keeping it secret even until her death and her children never speaking of it either-- yet none of this could stop the gossip of these two heroes, and their romantic story lives on to this very day.
