As the center of the Universe, the Material plane is a static sphere (approximately - it is wider in the middle than it is accross the poles), around which orbit other nearby heavenly bodies. That makes it a geocentric world, where the day and night cycle is dependent on the satellites, and not the rotation of the planet itself.
