RE, the resonance

Re is the magic of resonance, of comunication amongst magic. Re gives insight of the flame to those who chant it, Re diferentiates one fire from another, and can hear them even form afar. Re is the chant of chanting, the magic that listens magic, the metamagic by excelence.

Effect

Re can be used to talk to, diferentiate, track or ubicate a particular flame, linked to a particular mage. Re user act as magic hunters, telepaths, and such, usually given the custody of the custodes.

Side/Secondary Effects

Re open links doesn´t act as two way channels, but play games with the chanters mind and it´s perception of situation. Prolonagted use of Re magic can provoke uneasiness, disorientation, temporal lost of reality, balance problems, nausea, and such. Also, and like Mi, Re requires quite a bunch of concentration and mind power, leaving the user absent from the world and it´s potential dangers

Manifestation

The chime of Re only plays in the minds of those conected by the flame. Flame of the user also suffers deformations on it´s form and color when the connection is established.

Like every magic in Asmate, it comes from the Song, and the Blue Flame. Though it is able to track particular flames, Re can´t track the first flame or the Song itself, just mage modified flames.

Discovery

Re has a soon start and a long development. First uses of Re seen light on monasteries and such, places of reclusion and meditation, where the mages tries to reach the source of magic, lead to a magic to reach the wordly flames. It´s development out of this circles of obscure meditation, and as a tool, are even newer than that of the Mi, dating just about 120 years ago.

Gestures & Ritual

Though not entirely required, the effort that Re means it´s quite easier from comfortable, relaxed postures, from meditation ones to just lying down. Usually, eyes are closed upon it´s use, leading to the impression of sleeping, in some cases.

Effect Duration

Re longs for as long as the will of the mage keeps it working or the flame in the mage ends.

Effect Casting Time

Varying from mage to mage, short pulses take less than a second, long tracking can take several minutes.

Range

Depends on the mage abilities. From just some meters to the whole Asmate, from just one channel to a mental conversation. More difficulty, more cost, though.

Level

Third level chant: Metamagic. A high level chant, only acquired by a handful of hard working mages, and even by less developed to it´s full potential.

Applied Restriction

Re and Mi are mutually exclusives. Re can only touch and talk with other mages flames, but can´t affect them further. Re can´t ubicate a non tracked diferenciated flame, and needs to have close contact with the said flame to start the tracking. However, can ubicate the very existence of flames, even those who didn´t had come in contact with the chanter. Death or echoing during a Re contact will send a flame whipping to the Re user, cuting the bond and hurting the chanter.
