Personal history

880 - Born the first son to Lord Xkall, a young S'Vetca Vahl'Alkym sworn to the great and ancient kingdom of Aelyssar. Due to his father being a Vahl'Alkym and unable to remain fulltime at the Weyr, Xkoll treasured his father's visits and learned all he could from him. In the meanwhile, his hard and impentrable mother groomed him to follow in his father's footsteps and win honor for the lowly S'Vetca family.   980 - At age 100, Xkoll was initiated as a Vahl'Alkym. There was debate between his Yldr and his father as to where he should swear to, but his father eventually won and took him to become the first Vahl'Alkym of the newly rising Kingdom of Pura and King Espero.   990 - A second Vahl'Alkym swears to Pura, a female Viridian from the second highest house in the Weyr-- Celinya of Nygba. Also, secretly admired by Xkoll as a youth. Despite her initial coldness towards him, it becomes clear she is simply playing hard to get and feels very much the same as he did. As Vahl'Alkym, they are unable to marry unless allowed by their sworn, and simply remain friends and compatriots.   1017 - The Pale War begins and slowly ravages Ashnuw. Xkoll and Celinya are desperately in love. King Espero and Queen Vyta, very aware of their servants' love for eachother, give them permission to marry. Xkoll and Celinya prepare to marry, but as the War rises, Xkoll decides to wait until after the war, due to the fears of leaving Celinya alone with a child should he die in battle. Celinya is very resistant, but consents.   1021 - As the Pale War escalates, a Weyr is called. All the Viridians leave their kingdoms. Due to the extreme gravity of the war scene, all the Viridians unify to form a battalion. Celinya stays to fight with Pura, Xkoll is required to join the Viridian battallion.   1026 - The battle intensifies. Much of Pura withdraws from the field in order to create a rebuilding center in Pura centered around their healing waters. Celinya leaves with King Espero and Queen Vyta. Xkoll is still required to fight on the front.   1027 - The Pale War is won and the Borax Uldek is created. Many Viridians are slain, including both of Xkoll's parents, who he found on the battlefield. Greiving, but grateful for victory, Xkoll returns to Pura. He arrives to find it in ruins without a single trace of a struggle.   Utterly devastated, Xkoll searches. But there are no clues except for the existence of a strange cult that has formed underneath Pura, calling themselves Pura Sanctum. Claiming that Elyon destroyed the Kingdom of Pura and gave it to them instead, they call down curses on Xkoll and send him away. Xkoll makes a trip to the Weyr to request annihilating the cult, but his request is denied and furthermore, Yldr Danau orders him not to interfere with them at all.   Xkoll continues to search for the next 700 years. The Black Diamond symbol and a "Lord Tor" begins to appear throughout a land, corresponding with some criminal activity. Xkoll, in honor of his king and determined to keep the Order of Pura alive, begins to resist these efforts.   1033 - Darasuum begins to take conquest of the land, including Pura. The pirate activity goes underground and so does Xkoll. For the next ten years, Xkoll battles alone for the ruins of his kingdom using guerilla warfare tactics.   1333 - The Black Diamond Trade Federation forms and Pura has offically become a pirate haunt. Xkoll continues to resist, but his efforst are fruitless. Pure becomes Pura Swampwood and the region is overrun.   1498 - Xkoll is captured by one of the current pirate captains. Rather than kill him, the pirates take him by mag glide to sell him. Xkoll manages to escape over Kelindor and lands in Middlemarch, where he meets Donindor. He takes a few months to recover from his injuries, befriending the Guardian, then returns to Pura, his hope revived.   1680 - Xkoll rescues a young rat from Aizdihar from hanging and in return, the rat promises to serve him in order to fulfill a vow to Elyon. Xkoll takes the rat as his rogue and Simab becomes the first member of the new Royal Class Force of the Order of Pura. (See Royal Class Force of the Order of Pura   1689 - Xkoll finds a red-headed Elfe child lying unconcsious on Alte Rynn--the first true Elfe child of Pura he has seen in nearly 700 years. Furthermore, he finds her wearing a ring around her neck that he recognizes as belonging to Celinya. He instantly takes her as his own, nurses her back to health, and begins to train her in the ways of the Order of Pura. Unfortunately the Elfe, Maki, knows nothing of what happened to her before she appeared on Alte Rynn.   1693 - Much to Xkoll's ire, a young upstart by the name of Kil'Kenny begins to fight the pirates but refuses to fight with the honor of the Order of Pura. Xkoll's class force and Kil'Kenny's privateers become rivals.   1700 - A Weyr is called and Xkoll must report to Canubala Cwtch. In light of the realization that he has begun to age and only has roughly 100 years left to live, Xkoll gives Maki Celinya's pendant, his own teleport heal and sends Maki to Middlemarch to grow up.... all in hopes that she will be able to carry on the legacy of the Order of Pura once he is gone.

While at the Weyr, Xkoll receives a letter from Maki telling him that Donindor claims that the Order of Pura is somehow still alive another dimension. Overwhelmed beyond belief, Xkoll leaves to find Maki.   Unfortunately, the Weyr is destroyed by the Sanctified's rectifier. Xkoll was flying away at the time, but was still terribly injured. Pirates, his old foes, loot the Weyr and find him. He is recognized, tortured for sport, his fire chambers destroyed and his wings cut off. During this time, he met Jay and the two were some measure of comfort to each other. He was then sold as a slave to Aizdihar. Thankfully, Simab was visiting family and working on a mission with some rebels at the time and recognized Xkoll. He and Xkoll managed to escape and flee Aizdihar.   While travelling through Glandoria, they find Maki along with several other of her companions that she met during her time in Middlemarch. Maki has recovered all her memories and tells Xkoll that Pura was sucked into Pale's dimension. It is still alive, but in a slower time. When Maki left, the King Espero had just been killed. Celinya lives, but is still young. Maki was sent through a portal back to Ashnuw to warn the kingdoms of Pale's hope to suck all of Ashnuw into his dimension as well. Though Maki did not personally witness it, she brings news of Pale returning to Ashnuw and appearing to Donindor's group in Middlemarch.   Xkoll, instantly taking control of the situation, begins to lead Maki and her companions--a former assassian named Ananias, Doctor Beakerson, Abiru and Sarafina. He and the others helps Sarafina recover a lost friend held by the pirate Tor. While on this mission, Xkoll comes face to face with Tor and recognizes him as an ancient guardian of Pura, Espero's former advisor. Now running from Tor, the Sanctified and anyone else that Pale might send to destroy Maki and anyone associated with Donindor, Xkoll leads the group to Broostwater Heuntsia in time for a Kingdom Meeting.   During the Meeting of Broostwater, Xkoll represented the Kingdom of Pura and the fallen Weyr. The Sanctified attacked Broostwater during the meeting by frightening the occupants into evacuating. Xkoll and his class force escaped by wagon and foot and rejoined the other kingdom refugees on Kil'Kenny's ship.   There Raevyn uncovers Matchless, a girl who may know the location of the portal to Pale's dimension hidden in the bowels of Pura Sanctum. Xkoll leaves for Pura at once, saying another goodbye to Maki as she believes she place is with Donindor. Finally joining forces with Kil'Kenny, Xkoll and the Class Force begin their war to recover Pura.

Mental Trauma

Xkoll's life is lanced with much loss and pain. As a very loyal and past-oriented person, he is haunted by memories of what once was. This can sometimes hinder him from seeing what needs to be done in the moment.

Intellectual Characteristics

Xkoll's thinking is not dynamic, but it is very direct and sharp. He sees what needs to be done and can do basic battle strategy. His strengths lie more in his skill and leadership confidence.

Morality & Philosophy

Xkoll is extremely loyal to the Code of the Order of Pura and the morals that follow that code. He is also loyal to his own code of nobility as a Viridian Vahl'Alkym. Such ideals included unswerving devotion, rejection of fear, his responsibilities as a leader to his Class Force and surrogate father to Maki, honor in combat towards the enemy, and most importantly, reverence and obedience to Elyon.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To recover Pura and Celynia. And to die doing what he had to do 'til the end.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Memories, silence, accomplishment, listening to his class force goof off, Maki (he's way too soft on her), flying, fire, night, cool breezes on his scales, people who need to be adopted, singing (sometimes)   Dislikes: Akihide, Ahkleffleebdloodle, The Weyr, Oryas, the S'Vetca House's shunning and shaming, time, sand, feeling old, memories, seeing Pura fall into depravity because of his failure to drive out the pirates, Kil'Kenny, loud noises, Dr. Beakerson's teasing

Virtues & Personality perks

Very, very loyal and stubborn. A good leader in the sense he is not afraid to take charge, make hard decisions, and work tirelessly to see that those around him are okay, healthy and prepared to complete the objective.

Vices & Personality flaws

Very, very stubborn and proud. Has some deep rooted fears and anger at Elyon. Is driven by how well he is doing, how well he is measuring up--not by Elyon's love. Can also be a little controlling.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Maki - His "Little Mistress of Fire." Maki has a very special place in his heart as a fellow fire creator and the last Elfe of Pura. He sees her like his daughter--the last person who will outlive him and carry a part of him with her into the future. Despite her irreverent personality and persistant failures, he cannot help but love and believe in her. He is very possessive of her and almost constantly worried that she is going to accidently end up getting herself killed because she did something stupid.   Simab - Xkoll's loyal and trustworthy rogue. The two have a very clear relationship and understand eachother well. Xkoll can be heavy handed, but Simab bears it well and does much to keep Xkoll sane when he's under alot of pressure.   Elayne - Xkoll's second "daughter." A half-elf girl he and the Class force rescued from a pirate raid. She was half crazy from the trauma she had experienced. Through his gentle persistence, she recovered much of her sanity and became the class forced healer. Xkoll, by her request, has been teaching her combat for a long time to help her recover her sense of dignity and overcome many of her fears. He cares for her very deeply.   Raevyn - Xkoll's ranger, a human who had once been part of Pura Sanctum, then escaped after he learned the truth of what they were really up to. We captured by Xkoll and the class force, then reformed, then accepted. He and Xkoll are both quiet and do not communicate often.   Lloyd - The last class force member, a young blond human bard who one day stumbled upon them and stayed. Xkoll is easily exasperated by Lloyd, but cannot help but enjoy his open temperament and his personableness. Would totally die to save him if he had to.   Celynia - His lost fiance, a beautiful, spirited, and rather conniving female Viridian, who angered everyone in her house by swearing to Pura just to track down a lowly S'Vetca and get him to marry her. She had a very calming and healing effect on Xkoll, helping him open up and enjoy humor and life more. She is always somewhere back in his dreams and his heart.   King Espero - His sworn king, a man who pursued Elyon with all his heart. In general, he was very good and fair to Xkoll and Xkoll silently adored him and his passion for life. The two were on good terms and many times Xkoll served him personally in his chambers, though there was always a professional bearing between the two of them. The King admired and trusted Xkoll.   Queen Vyta - His sworn queen, a very wild and mysterious Elfe woman who loved Espero and Elyon. Had a manic, unpredictable energy and passion that sometimes appeared reckless and dangerous. An amazing runner and could blend into the trees effortlessles despite her long red hair. Xkoll always showed her utmost respect and she liked him a childlike sort of way, and sometimes enjoyed teasing him, seeing if she could make him smile or break stance.   Guardian Xanda (Lord Tor) - Xkoll's overseer, for a time. Helped train Xkoll in the ways of Pura and make him fit for service. Xkoll trusted him and saw him as a mentor until one day, an important document was lost. Xanda blamed Xkoll and when Xkoll denied the claim, Xanda pressured him to confess. Eventually Xkoll realized that the only other person who could have committed the crime was Xanda himself. When he tried to prove his innocence and confront the guardian, Xanda had him silenced, punished, imprisoned, and tormented for "not revealing the location of the stolen document." King Espero and Queen Vyta believed their older friend, especially after he warned them of Viridian deception, so they left Xkoll in Xanda's hand. So the Guardian scheduled Xkoll to be executed. Cashel, Farshi and Anna knew Xkoll would not lie and managed to track down the truth in time. Xanda was banished and Xkoll was freed. His loyalty under suffering in the entire affair earned him the Guardian's place in the palace and utmost respect from all in Pura.   Cashel - A ferret, Xkoll's colleague, the Rogue of the Royal Guard. Had a very bold and cheeky personality, but worked well with Xkoll after the two of them grew to understand eachother. Simab reminds Xkoll of him.   Holland - A white fox, Xkoll's colleague, the Ranger of the Royal Guard. Very precise, mortal frenemies with Cashel, good and respectful advisor to Xkoll.   (Yari) Taoyarikalieonar - An Elfe, Xkoll's colleage, the Healer of the Royal Guard. A wide-eyed and earnest young man. He sometimes struggled with Xkoll's harshness, but had an almost undless supply of giving energy and a dauntless bravery. Died during the crossover from Pura to Pale's dimension.   (Anna) Yelannieolianna - An Elfe, Xkoll's colleage, the Bard of the Royal Guard. A black haired harpist with amazing power to influence her listeners and discern truth. Was calm and casual friends with Xkoll. Died during the crossover from Pura to Pale's dimension.   Farsha - A human, Xkoll's colleage, the Super of the Royal Guard. A dark-skinned woman with amber eyes and unsurpassed super abilities. Stoic and regal, but chaotic, butted heads with Xkoll and openly challenged him many times. Secretly on of his best friends. Died during the crossover from Pura to Pale's dimension.   Donindor - The Guardian of Middlemarch and the Order of Nehara. Not a close friend, but certainly an ally who helped him in a time of need. Xkoll feels indebted to him as a Guardian and would have gladly sworn to serve him if he was only already sworn to Pura.   Aelkd - A fellow Viridian outcast. Xkoll saved his life in the Pale War. Later, when Yldr Danau offered Alnya's hand to Xkoll in exchange for him returning to the Weyr full time, Xkoll refused--much to Aelkd's joy. The two bonded over the situation when Aelkd (then shunned) revealed that he long loved Alnya. Xkoll became his friend and encouraged him to not follow tradition and win Alnya's hand. Unforunately, Aelkd did not follow his advice and Alnya died before he could marry her.   Dryn'myr - A young Viridian who forcefully befriended Xkoll at the last Weyr and became a great comfort to him. He was the last Viridian Xkoll spoke to before the Weyr was destroyed.   Yldr Nygba - Celynia's very aged mother. Speaks up for Xkoll when his honor is questioned and holds his loyalty for her lost daughter fondly.   Oryus - Yldr Danau's heir and son. A coarse and wild Viridian who flies in the face of respect and dignity. Enjoys belittling and berating those beneath him, including Xkoll.   Kil'Kenny - A wild young upstart rebel reformed-pirate in Pura swampwoods. Xkoll despises him because he is successfully quelling pirates without any reverence to the Order of Pura or to him as Guardian of Pura. Rival.   The Black Diamond - The ring of pirates who hate and fear and want to destory Xkoll. His mortal enemies. Has haunted and pursued their organizations for centuries and has become a legend in their ranks. Xkoll especially hates Rackshank for his blatant cruelty and Lord Tor for his illusiveness.   Jay - A young half-elf slave with fire powers found on Rackshank's ship serving water to the prisoners. Xkoll had just been captured and asked him to help him escape and he would take him with him. Jay, his friend Mike, and Xkoll managed to free Rackshank's menagerie and some of the slaves from the Protectorate. But Mike was killed and Jay and Xkoll were recaptured. Jay was put in a room back to back with Xkoll's cell where they cut his wings off and tormented him. The two spoke some during this time and Xkoll considered his presence a great comfort, especially since Jay's fire abilities reminded him of Maki. When they landed in Aizdihar, Xkoll was sold and he thought he would not see the boy again. However, months later, when he arrived in Pura again, ready to find the portal to Pale's dimension, he found Jay on Kil'Kenny's ship, having just been rescued from Rackshank's crew. Jay left for Middlemarch and Xkoll wrote Maki and Donindor a letter telling them who he was and take care of him.   Ananias - A former assassin and Maki's trainer/second father. Xkoll's opinon of him began with open distrust and hatred (thinking he was still an assassin) to eventual respect and even loyalty once Ananias' royal heritage was revealed. He has left Maki in his care, showing he trusts his abilities a great deal.   Dr. Beakerson - Maki's friend, and a healer. Xkoll keeps him in the group for decency's sake, but the doctor's words nettle and pain him.   Sarafina - Maki's friend from Middlemarch, a half elf rogue. Xkoll will take care of her, but knows she does not full trust him, so keeps his distance.   Chance - Sarafina's friend, part of the royal guard. Xkoll and he are not on good terms and the two glare at eachother frequently.   Abiru - A lost Tengu girl with a broken wing and instantly an object of Xkoll's affection. He and the others lowkey kidnap her and keeps her around, somehow seeing himself in her injury and wanting her to heal.   Orla - An all white Viridian child who was kidnapped at a young age. Is being taught to be a proper Viridian lady by Xkoll. Helped bridge the bond between Xkoll and Kil'Kenny.   Chenyol -The Headmaster of Hwarang. Formerly someone Xkoll did not trust due to a misunderstanding that nearly led to his death in Kokka. But after the Headmaster's sincere apology and the crisis bonding of fleeing Broostwater together, Xkoll now considers him an ally.   Haku - Abiru's fiance who concerns Xkoll. For one, Haku knew things about him he had never told him before, and for two, he openly declared his intent to marry Abiru upon finding her again. Xkoll is suspicious, and determined to give Haku the cold shoulder, regardless of Haku's attempts at friendship.   Koya - Elenthian water pirate who referenced enslaving Viridians and mocked their demise. Xkoll swore to hill him the next time he saw him.
