Jominac, Chapter 5—The Plan

Written by Dronin Gammerson
“You should still set up troops on the other locations but focus on this one and make sure no one finds out about it.” I said to Kilimor.   “Yes we'll do that. I think we should put two guards on each of the three other places and five at the most potential place,” Killimor said   “That sounds good,” I replied.   Kilimor walked away towards the guard room, while I went to my house. Along the way, signs of the recent search were everywhere. Boxes lining the doorways of warehouses. People were trying to put them back but it was taking a while.   I got to my house and sat down with a sigh. It had been a long day. I had not slept in over fourty hours. Wishing to just lie down and fall asleep, I got up and began to strap my armor on. The chain goes first over my every-day clothes. Then goes the plate which is extremely hard to put on by myself, but manageable none the less.   After taking a painfully long time putting my armor on I headed out to the warehouse where Kilimor and he five guards were supposed to be. I was stopped about ten feet from my house by a messenger who wordlessly handed me a slab of metal and walked away.   “He must be new.” I said looking down at the next message from Dronin. I walked back into my house and put the message on the magnet. Then I began to read.   Jominac After destroying the crown of Trillion we set out to find the next item of power before Athruu. This was located a great distance away and we had to travel a while to get to it. It was located in the ruins of an old city. On our way there we went through a small town. If you can even call it that. No one would talk to us for quite some time and they were all chained up and working on various tasks. One man came over and told us that a man by the name of Bashi had enslaved them and put them to work. We asked the man where Bashi was. He told us and we fought Bashi and his men and eventually killed him and left to find the item of power. The item was on the other side of a clan called the blood-hammer clan. We asked them if we could pass through their territory without bloodshed but inevitably they refused. We resorted to fighting them until we found out that they had three hundred men. So we blew up their ship without being detected. This made them very mad and they all retreated to stop whoever it was that blew up their ship. We have just made it to the ruins that the item is in and are planning how to get it out. Signing out: Dronin   “I sure hope Dronin gets the item before this Athruu character,” I said and began walking to Kilimor and the guards at the warehouse. It took longer then it did coming from the warehouse because the armor was weighing down, but the minuscule five seconds did not matter.   “Hello Jominac,” Kilimor said, “You plan to wait for the thieves too?”   “Yes that is the plan,” I replied.   “Good we can use all the help we can get,” Kilimor said and settled down on one of the boxes next to the would-be tunnel. I settled down as well, “I'm going to go to sleep wake me if you hear anything.”   “Sure thing,” Kilimor said in a detached way. The guards shifted in their armor as I drifted off to sleep.   I woke up with no memory how did I get here? I thought. Memory of the previous day flooded back and my eyes widened.   “Did anything happen that I should know about?” I asked Kilimor.   “No not even a noise from underneath us,” Kilimor replied.   “Hmmm maybe they'll come in a few hours.   We waited another hour. Nothing.   Another hour went by. Still nothing happened.   A half an hour. Someone knocked on the door. Everyone jumped up ready for an attack.   A messenger popped his head in. “There has been an attack somewhere unexpected.”
