Jominac, Chapter 3—History
“Now that we know that the hole was created beforehand, but the question is when and by whom?” I said with a deep frown on my face.
“Maybe we should look in the archives for if someone made it within our history and would have recorded it.” Rodrick said with an equity deep frown on his own face.
“That might be a good idea. There have been too many places that have been attacked for someone to have dug it ahead of time and not recorded it. Also some of the buildings that were stolen from were recently chosen to contain the materials, they could not have predicted that.” I said.
“Okay then lets get to it.” Rodrick said.
We headed out the door opening it only to find a messenger with a package in his hand. He handed it to us saying. “The next metal message came in.”
“Thank you.” I said taking it from him, turning to Rodrick I said, “Do you have a decripting magnet?”
“Of course, it is in the box on my desk,” He replied gesturing.
“You haven't gotten it out of your desk yet?” I said incredulously.
“No I haven't been here long enough to have a use for it.” He replied sheepishly.
I sighed angrily and put the message on the magnet. Taking it off I began to read.
Jominac
We set out to find the missing artifact for Donindor and found the ranger that was supposed to have already found the item. He told us that he had retrieved it but was ambushed by pale archers. He did not know what faction they were from but he told us that they were most definitely evil. We were then led to the place where the artifact was left, it was not taken because it has certain measures against theft. The measures in question make it phase into another dimension whenever there is not a certain stone near it which is somewhat of a tracker. Anyway he lead us to the object and there the archers were waiting for us. It was a great and glorious battle that we barely won. After getting the item down the ranger put us all asleep using sleeping gas. This would not have happened for me had he not been using a very quick gas that put me to sleep before I could get my potions out. He also took four prisoners with him. We returned to the village to work through what happened. Not long after we got to camp a villager told us that he had seen the ranger and the prisoners walking through when one of them turned into a bear and killed the ranger. It than turned back into a human and took the box away. We are currently working out how to get it back.
Signing off: Dronin
“This is serious, and all for knowledge of the surface, I hope he does not get too attached to the people up there, else he would never come back, Though that is unlikely.” I remarked.
“Well that was nice, can we go back to working on who is stealing from us?” Rodrick said impatiently.
“Yes, yes let's go to the archives.” I said.
We headed toward the archives near the keep at a slow trot.
“Jominac Battle commander number three senior intelligence officer.” I said to the guards.
“Rodrick Battle commander number four junior intelligence officer.”
Rodrick said immediately after me.
We walked through the now open door heading once again to the archives. During the stroll we heard the bustle of many people buying and selling, haggling for the right price that most never reach. It did not take long for us to pass all of these people and reach our destination. We opened the door to find a room full of towers of shelved books. The walls were lined with books of all different kinds. People filled the room, some on the tables scattered everywhere, some on ladders reaching the books up high, and some still on the floor with books in their laps.
We passed all of these and headed strait to the librarian.
“Could we please see the archives?” I said politely.
The librarian visibly brightened at the sight of us, due to our frequent visits. “Yes absolutely, I believe you know the way.”
I nodded and walked passed the librarian to a door behind him.
I immediately grabbed a book and started to read. Rodrick quickly followed suit.
Long ago the land of Ashnuw was joined with the land passed the Borax Uldek and it was all one, but then a great evil named Pale switched the magnetic charge of this land and left the other land the same as it was...
“Not that one,” I mumbled and grabbed another.
During the war against Pale many were deceived into fighting with the crazy maniac but our great king Draldon was not...
“Not that one either,” again I mumbled and grabbed another book.
After the victory over Pale king Draldon lead the people previously called “De Swalker” or “The Wanderers” to a land where they would soon settle down underground in...
“This is what I was looking for.” I said with a grin and continued reading
...but before De Swalker could settle down they had to fight off creatures they did not know about before called the Ravagers. These foul beasts inhabited the land now called Draldon with their gooey hives boring holes everywhere...
“I GOT IT!” I exclaimed making Rodrick jump up and nearly knock over a very tall bookshelf.
“Don't do that!” Rodrick said heatedly, “I nearly broke something”
“Sorry, well I found it,” I said excitedly, “Right here it says that the Ravagers bore holes everywhere, and it further goes on to say that it took almost a six months to fill up all of the holes so we could build the castle on it.”
“So now all we have to do is find these tunnels and make them unusable.” Rodrick said nodding.
“No, no, no we need to find out where they lead and catch the thieves.”
“Sounds good to me.”
“Okay let's tell Kilimor.”
