Greymarch
The Capital of the Duchy of Greyvale in the southern kingdom of Sammania. This stonewalled city governs the eastern portion of the Sammanian peninsula and oversees many smaller regional towns. The reigning Duke Triston Greyvale is a loyal bannerman of King Hector. Duke Triston is young and untried, having grown up through a time of peace within the Kingdom.
There is a heavy bias against "Greenskins" or Goblinoids throughout Greyvale and especially in the capital. The war that preceded the founding of the Kingdom, a series of engagements known as " The Bloody Anarchy " has created the cultural hatred of Goblinoids, as well a general xenophobia throughout the citizenry.
The Duke rules through his close council, heavily relying on older experienced noblemen to run his duchy. The people of the duchy pay a higher tax to the duke than any other citizens within the kingdom. The high tax goes primarily to the Duke's standing army The Greyguard. The army does regular armed patrols throughout the duchy, postured as doing their ancient duty of keeping the people safe from Greenskin invaders or other external threats. In truth, the Greyguard act more as a ducal police force, keeping the dukes law and the taxes flowing. The Greyguard HQ is within the city of Greymarch, and the soldiers keep the duke's peace within the city.
