While there definately is more land and people on my world the main part only know of themselves. There is a high level of spirituallity and spirits that are connected to the nature around them. In the lands I am focusing on, there are three states the main characters know of: Freyen, a highly spiritual place with temples and nomads; Inga, a strict place where people are generally untrusting of each other due to a war that just ended; and Arran, a place where values stand high and though status is definately a thing it is often just forgotten for convenience. The three countries have always been at war until recently the people rebelled and got themselves a new government and decided to educate youngsters to build not destroy. Because the war had ended and technology and science blossomed the lands started to get full. Now they knew that there must be something beyond or in the mountains north of the three countries because the people that tried to get over either came back without hands and a tong, so they couldn't write or speak of their experiences., or they didn't come back at all. Out at sea they couldn't go further than the horizon because a reef of coral and rocks blocked their way, so they never really explored. This year's destined class will get the mission to break through the northern barrier of mountains and make peace with whatever was up there so that they could migrate groups of people and not overpopulate their own lands. North of the Endeberg, as people called the mountain range, there lived a peaceful folk with an emperor but also a democratically chosen council. They knew about the lands beneath the mountain, and wanted nothing to do with them. That is why they always gave explorers of fugitives a choice: never go back or lose your limbs. they could go out at sea and all of the world had agreed to just leave Arran, Freyen and Inga alone. I should tell you about the religion in our three isolated lands and about their politics, but that is a story for another day.
