General Baumgartner's Army
Structure
The army is lead by General Felix Wohn Baumgartner, who has the authority to direct his army in whatever way necessary to serve the royal family of Coul. The army is divided into four cohorts, each led by a lieutenant. Finally, each cohort holds 8 regiments, led by captains, with each regiment holding 250 men. The captains are able to organize their men into segments or patrols as they wish, often resulting in more complex hierarchy within the each regiment.

Generel Baumgartner's Army was raised to defeat Quarez during the Quarasian War.
Assets
A total of 8000 soldiers fight in General Baumgartner's army. Most soldiers are mounted, usually wielding spears or lances and wearing a combination of leather and chainmail armor, as this equipment was common among Coul and fast to produce. The army was granted gold by the Coulian royalty to spend on equipment as seen fit by the general, and occasionally plundered gold and equipment from occupied towns or defeated Quarezi troops.
History
General Baumgartner's Army was raised primarily in Viercourt during the Coulian-Midlander militarization, in anticipation of an attack on Quarez. Approximately three quarters of the army was drawn from the small Coulian standing army as well as volunteer troops, with the remaining quarter conscripted from small hamlets and towns. During the Coulian-Midlander militarization, lasting a short 6 months, troops of the army were quickly outfitted and trained. Due to the limited timeframe, General Baumgartner had his troops trained in discipline and organization, allowing each group of soldiers to fight as one cohesive unit in cavalry charges. Weapons training outside of cavalry charges was still given, particularly to those already adept in magic, but less focus was placed on that than on discipline.
Baumgartner and his soldiers departed from Viercourt on 4/6/1172, heading towards Quarezi territory. Soon after their departure, a group of Coulian soldiers fought against a Quarezi patrol, marking the first battle of the Quarasian War.
The army quickly moved into Quarezi territory, sparking bloody conflict between them and the Quarezi Imperial Guard. [wip]
Disbandment
General Baumgartner's army was dissolved on 11/02/1175, as relations with Quarez had begun to cool down after the Coulian victory of the Quarasian War, and the army was viewed as no longer necessary. While the army was officially disbanded, over half of the troops were subsequently stationed in Viercourt where they remained ready to fight for several years after the fact.
