Pantheon

The world of Aryn has a Pantheon that is as entitled and corrupted as the greek gods.
At the end of the last epoch, the gods gathered together to try and find a way to curb the mortal's ability and desire for expansion and destruction. Mortals had created so much technology that it was polluting and straining the ether. The gods decided to take action.
The current age began with a catastrophic event called the cataclysm, where some of the gods created a machine that removed free will from mortals. "Mr Silver", "Leafy" and a few other gods created an arcane machine that tied soul coins to mortals in order to control their will.
The gods had initially created an equitable system for each god to earn followers and share in the balance of power, but over time some of the gods squandered their portions, and began to take things for granted. Other gods quickly capitalized on their misfortune, to create a giant shift in power. Those who were "rich" in followers began to take them for granted, and now gamble followers' lives frivously, as they are bored and gluttonous.
