House on Hunted Hill

Geography

The House on Hunted Hill is not really located on a hill. Starting from a very slowly climbing hillside, straying away from the safety of the street and the town behind it is a path of roots you should follow. Right after a turn and the end of a stone fence you'll see two huge trees framing what seems to be a dark "door" way. The roots of the trees show up of ground level and twist and tie together in a sturdy bridge.

Should you decide to follow that bridge it will bring you further up the hill and beyond it. Beyond it the bridge continues over a dramatic drop down and ends right at the steps of the House. This is the only way in and out of the house on ground level. If you stand on the doorstep and look around you'll see an almost perfectly circular shape cut sharply into the neighboring landscape as if with a knife. The diameter of the entire crater is 600-700m and one can see the forest behind the house from the root bridge.

If you look down you'll see a giant tree trunk stretching all the way down to the bottom of the hole which is exactly 973m from the base of the house which, in reality is made from the tree itself.

History

The crater the House is located in was formed in year 13. It was a precisely aimed celestial seed pod that created it: a seed pod with the ingredients to create a strong tree that can sense, lure and consume any souls unfortunate enough to think the house is a safe place to spend the night.

By year 135 the tree had started growing but still hadn't reached the tops of the crater border. Explorers would try to see what it is and to take samples from its bark but in return they'd get parts of their hands or bodies turn into tree parts. Because of this effect the tree was left to grow over the years becoming this incredibly huge being, creating its house and continuing up from it - to this day nobody's seen any of the billion branches begin to form a treetop so it is unknown how far it's going to keep on going.

Currently the tree's kept with only the way that the root bridge creates and the access to the bridge is pushed aside from all main roads by re-forming the terrain around.
