Ira, Goddess of Death
Ira is the Goddess of Death and one of the first three gods of the Arrasgoth Pantheon. She was the goddess that welcomed and cared for those of Govlous, God of Life' creations who had died. She believes that death is not the end, but a chance to share the stories of a life that has been completed.
She cares deeply about all things and loves to be involved with all the creations that were made for her on the world. She is one of the gods that will frequently appear in mortal form to interact with the material plane and those that dwell upon it. She and her husband, Govlous, are known as the chaotic pair that disrupted Dutdur, God of Knowledge and his ideas for the world.
She is neutral in alignment, like the majority of the other gods in her pantheon. She welcomes all those that die into her realm to live their afterlife with no judgement, no fear, and with the chance to share all their stories with her.
Divine Domains
Ira is the deity of the Death Domain. She oversees all that die, whether animal, mineral or plant. She adores stories and looks forward to every tale that is brought to her from the souls that have passed on into her garden.
She is also the overseer of where souls go once they die, whether it is to the Garden of Passing if they have led a good life, or to the Abyss if they have not. She believes that every death is a celebration of life and should not be feared. She will intervene with mortals when she wants to, but predominantly will only do that with her husband.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Ira's divine symbol is an empty lantern. She is the goddess of the dead and all that die upon the world, though their souls may be taken elsewhere depending on how they were in life, and any deals that were made. Her symbol is seen all across Arrasgoth, but can specifically be seen in medical facilities as a way to protect those that may not live through their illnesses. The colour of her symbol is black and so her followers wear black in their religious garments, or add black to their accessories.

It's an oldie but a goldie: a goddess of death who cares for those she takes. I love this every time i see it, and you do something i havnt seen before. This idea that she sees death as a chance to share the story of your life is beautiful and just.. oof. i'm jealous i never thought of it. lol. It also seems that she's one step away from being a storytelling goddess as well as a death goddess. I may look at the detail a little too closely but that just shows its my favorite. i also like the idea of her being married to the god of life. nicely done. I imagine they are indeed a chaotic pair.. !
Thank you for your feedback! I certainly love the idea of life and death being in tandem with each other rather than at odds. I also love the idea of death being less feared but more celebrated. They are absolutely a chaotic pair for sure!
