Day of the Ancestors

Day of the Ancestors is a goliath festival that is celebrated on the first night of Tomideb. The festival is a celebration of all who have lived and died within their own tribes, and celebrates the start of the hunting season. The festival is normally tied to a celebration of Ira, Goddess of Death as the animals hunted are slaughtered in honour to her and the afterlife of their ancestors.    The festival itself lasts for one day but the hunt continues for the entire month of Tomideb, with the majority of the various goliath tribes disappearing into forest areas for the 28 day period. Young goliaths often use the festival as the start of their tradition from child to adult.
